Geonvironmental Investigation Billinge, Lancashire
IDG recently completed a ground investigation including:
Trial pitting & trenching to enable in-situ geotechnical testing, & obtain environmental & geotechnical bulk samples,
Rotary probeholes to assess risks from shallow mineworkings
Cable percussive boreholes to obtain undisturbed soil samples to inform foundation and earthworks engineering design parameters and to enable installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
Gas & groundwater monitoring to inform foundation design, floor slab construction & ground gas protection measures.
The findings have to date enabled provision of a detailed Foundation Schedule, taking into account the influence of numerous mature trees which border the site and which will be retained.
