Earthworks Design, Supervision & Verification in Cumbria

In order to continue development of the next phase of Story Homes Edgehill Park development it was necessary to redirect a high pressure gas main which passed beneath the site. To ensure site levels were maintained, it was necessary to re-engineer the soils beneath the site prior to the construction of a new gas main. Soil sampling and geotechnical analysis to inform materials classification enabled IDG to prepare an Earthworks Specification for the works which took place during June and July 2025. Verification of the Earthworks was supervised by IDG.

Verification comprised daily moisture content tests carried out using IDGs mobile laboratory and independent nuclear density gauge testing to confirm dry density and allowable moisture contents were achieved.
