Geotechnical Investigation in Kendal

In January 2023, IDG carried out a geotechnical investigation to inform design of a retaining structure at a residential development in Kendal. The location was geologically complex comprising Glacial clay draped upon the steep slope of a buried scarp feature. The investigation allowed us to create a geological model showing contours of the buried bedrock surface which informed bespoke foundation design for affected plots. In-situ and soil laboratory geotechnical testing enabled our associates at Structensor Consulting Ltd to design an appropriate retaining structure while ensuring costs savings for our Client.
