Founded in 2009, iD-Geoenvironmental Limited (ID-Geo) is an independent geoenvironmental and geotechnical consultancy specialising in the redevelopment of brownfield and greenfield land. The company is owned and managed by its two Directors, Nick Ward and Liam Murphy.

Nick Ward
BSc (Hons), FGS
Managing Director
Nick is an Applied Geologist with twenty-four year’s experience in geoenvironmental consultancy, including investigation, assessment and remediation of greenfield and brownfield sites, earthworks and remediation strategies and design and construction of waste management facilities. Nick specialises in shallow mining investigation and treatment. Nick has previously worked in manufacturing and Local Government Planning & Development Control.

Liam Murphy
BSc (Hons), FGS, CGeol
Director
Liam is a Chartered Geologist with nineteen year's consultancy experience, holding a BSc Honours degree in Geology. Liam’s professional experience includes site investigation, geotechnical and environmental assessment, remediation, supervision and verification, earthworks and ground gas membrane validation carried out across a range of commercial and residential development projects on both greenfield and brownfield sites in the UK

Dr Brandon Rice-Birchall
BA (Hons), PhD, FGS, CGeol
Consultant
Brandon is a Chartered Geologist with a PhD in geochemistry and has eighteen year's experience in geoenvironmental consultancy specialising in the investigation, assessment and remediation of greenfield and brownfield sites in the UK.
Prior to this Brandon spent twelve years as a Senior Lecturer in Applied Geology at Staffordshire University and was the course Director for the MSc Environmental Geology and Environmental Management.

Ellen Smits BSc (Hons), MSc, FGS
Geoenvironmental Engineer
Ellen holds a BSc Honours Degree in Geological Sciences and a MSc in Volcanology and Geological Hazards. Ellen has been with IDG for 6 years and is experienced in site investigation, geotechnical and environmental assessment, investigation and treatment of shallow mineworkings, supervision of earthworks and remediation across a range of greenfield and brownfield residential redevelopment projects.

Ed Clark BSc (Hons)
Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer
Ed is the latest addition to our team, commencing his career as a graduate geoenvironmental engineer at ID-Geo. With a BSc Honours degree in Geography featuring key modules on Environmental Pollution and Health, Cold Landscapes, Dynamic Earth, and Fieldwork and Data Collection, Ed’s academic background included aspects of geology and glaciation providing a solid base for a new career in geoenvironmental consultancy.
